Alterations and Refurbishment of Autism Classroom at Eden Hill Primary School awarded to Protek 24/7 Building & Maintenance Services

About

Programmed Facility Management awarded a contract to Protek 24/7 Building & Maintenance Services (Protek Carpentry & Fencing Pty Ltd) for alterations and refurbishment of the Autism Classroom at Eden Hill Primary School on behalf of the Department of Finance and the Department of Education.

The works included undertaking a dilapidation survey; removal and disposal of asbestos; removal and disposal of specified equipment, furniture and fittings; cabinetry; plumbing; electrical; data and communications; works to windows, screens and doors; and steam cleaning of carpets.

The contract required all materials and installation to comply with Australian Standards and relevant codes and regulations, and procurement documentation required contractors to confirm existing site conditions, specifications, drawings and measurements prior to engagement.

Insight

The scope combined hazardous-material abatement with interior fit-out and multiple trades (joinery, services, glazing and cleaning), indicating the awarded contractor needed multi-trade capability and demonstrated compliance expertise with Australian Standards for school refurbishment projects.
