Procurement SA awarded a contract to A Haros & Sons Earthmovers Pty Ltd for inclusion on the Green Industries SA (GISA) Disaster Waste Management (DWM) Services Panel.

The panel was established to provide a range of services required to implement a DWM program in a declared disaster event, with GISA as the functional lead under the South Australian State Emergency Management Plan responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing waste management across preparedness, response, recovery and post-recovery phases.

Appointed suppliers were eligible to deliver one or more services including disaster waste expertise, all-hazards property assessments, waste collection and transport, environmental engineering, work health and safety consulting, electrical services, asbestos and respirable crystalline substance monitoring, field supervisors (labour), arborists, traffic management, temporary fencing, and temporary site office and amenities hire.

The contract term comprised an initial three-year term with two one-year extension options.

There was no guarantee of work under the panel, although appointed members were eligible for future engagements if a disaster was declared in South Australia.
