About
Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions awarded a contract to North Australia Contracting (M.J Kenny & C.B McNeil) for rectification of the structural integrity of the Kununurra Depot Store Shed after a portion of the shed had sunk over the last few years.
The scope included removal of a 10m x 4m section of old concrete slab; raising and propping necessary existing shed uprights and removing sheets as needed; filling and compacting new fill/soil; relaying a new concrete slab; removing and replacing the old leach drain; re-sheeting the shed; and removing rubbish and cleaning the site.
The works combined concrete slab replacement, underpinning/proping of structural uprights, drainage replacement and re-sheeting, indicating a multi-trade maintenance task addressing both structural and drainage failures in a government depot asset.
