WA Country Health Service awarded a contract to Kardan Construction (Kardan Australia Pty Ltd) for building works at Cunderdin Health Centre, Corrigin, Dumbleyung and York Hospital.
The contract covered conversion and refurbishment works: at Cunderdin Health Centre the works included conversion of a patient assist toilet to a bathroom, supply and installation of a shower, rails and shelf to complete that conversion, and supply and installation of a hand basin and tapware in a palliative care room; at Dumbleyung the works comprised a full refurbishment of a bathroom including demolition works and asbestos removal, delivered as a like-for-like refurbishment; and at York the works comprised a full refurbishment of a palliative care room and its ensuite bathroom including demolition, electrical work, painting and new wall and floor coverings, delivered as a like-for-like refurbishment.
The contract specified delivery priorities: 1) York palliative care room, 2) Dumbleyung bathroom, and 3) Cunderdin palliative care upgrades.
The contract was focused on targeted palliative care and bathroom fit-outs, demolition and asbestos remediation across regional WA health sites, and established a clear staged priority sequence for delivering the works.
