About
Department for Infrastructure and Transport awarded a contract to McMahon Services Australia Pty Ltd for the scour repair of the Gurra Gurra Creek Bridge (PN1865) on Bookpurnong Road, a critical transport link between Loxton and Berri in the Riverland Region.
The project addressed damage caused by the Foxtrot 22 High Flow / Flood Event during 2022 / 2023, repairing the scour around the bridge's piers and northern abutment.
It also included the removal of weedy vegetation from nearby flood plain bridges and improved mobile crane access over the bridge.
The repair efforts were aimed at enhancing flood resilience and minimizing construction impact on key stakeholders such as road users and local businesses.
