Ararat Rural City Council awarded a contract to SHS CIVIL CONSTRUCTIONS PTY LTD for the construction of an events and visitor space at Alexandra Oval.
The project included earthworks and construction of approximately 892m² of asphalt, 186m² of granite sand area, and 219m² of banked lawn area.
It also involved approximately 70m of stepped concrete walling to double as seating, with 50m of timber seating fixed to the concrete and 31 standalone timber bench seats.
Concrete steps with steel handrails and tactile indicators connected two parallel asphalt paths around the oval.
Electrical connection to the grandstand for outdoor power points serviced the event space, and stormwater connection to the existing system was included.
The contractor was responsible for all labour, materials, plant hire, freight, fees, and other sundry expenses.
The works excluded make good to Olver grandstand and the supply and planting of specified landscaping, which were handled separately.
