About
Moira Shire Council awarded a contract to Kennedy Builders for the construction of a public toilet and amenities block at Lake Mulwala Foreshore in Hunt Street, Yarrawonga.
The project includes earthworks, pier and beam footings, suspended concrete slab, access ramps, supply and installation of utility services (water, sewer, electricity), erection of the public toilet facility, and landscaping.
The facility will also house a pump room for the existing irrigation pumping infrastructure, with the contractor responsible for supplying and connecting the three-phase electricity supply and switchboard.
The former facilities were demolished and the irrigation infrastructure removed prior to construction.
This contract reflects a common local government need to replace aging public amenities while integrating essential infrastructure, such as irrigation pumps, into new builds.
Kennedy Builders, as the awarded supplier, will need to coordinate closely with the Council, which retains responsibility for re-installing the pump infrastructure and obtaining the building permit.
