About
Power and Water Corporation awarded a contract to Duratec Limited for the decommissioning of two existing 1,200 kL ground-level water tanks at Barunga (a remote Aboriginal community 65 km east of Katherine, population approximately 390) and the installation of two replacement tanks with an effective volume of 1,200 kL each, together with associated ancillary works.
The existing tanks had exceeded their design life and were in very poor condition, and the contract replaced them with like-for-like capacity tanks to restore the community’s storage assets.
