Transport for NSW awarded a contract to John Holland, CPB Contractors and Ghella for the design and construction of tunnel and station excavation works for the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project.
The scope included 15.5km of twin running tunnels, cross passages, dive structures at Chatswood and Marrickville, demolition and excavation for six new stations, a mined cavern at Barangaroo, and mined station caverns at Victoria Cross, Martin Place, and Pitt Street.
This major infrastructure contract was awarded to a joint venture of leading Australian and international contractors, reflecting the scale and complexity of the Sydney Metro expansion.
