About
City Renewal Authority awarded a contract to ERIN DICKSON for the design, fabrication and installation of a new public gateway artwork within the Braddon precinct.
The contract delivered the key public art element originally identified in the 2023 Braddon Streetscape Upgrade; streetscape construction had been completed in 2024.
Funding comprised $200,000 in unspent streetscape project funding redirected to the commission and an additional $100,000 contributed from FY26-27 PEM funding (CCMIL cost centre 17973), bringing the total project budget to $300,000.
The commissioned work was required to be consistent with the City Renewal Authority’s Urban Art Strategy (2020–2025).
The award illustrates the Authority’s practice of reallocating unspent capital from completed streetscape projects and supplementing with program funding to commission single-artist public artworks that fulfil strategic urban-art commitments.
