About

Department of Lands, Planning and Environment awarded a contract to Charles Darwin University for development and validation of a field-ready environmental DNA (eDNA) workflow to detect saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) in Northern Territory waters and delivery of a statistically defensible sampling scheme for Parks and Wildlife operational use.

The project was based on field collection of samples and laboratory and bioinformatic analysis at CDU and comprised three objectives: (1) assay evaluation and captive trials for eDNA detection of NT C.
