Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment awarded a contract to Jocobs Group (Australia) Pty Ltd for engineering consultancy to support the replacement of five bridges on Wielangta Road.
The contractor undertook geotechnical/piling investigations, hydraulic investigations and site surveys and developed a report providing input parameters for design.
After completing the report on design parameters, the contractor made recommendations on preferred design solutions, developed concept designs for the preferred replacement options and produced construction cost estimates for proposed bridge/culvert replacements at each of the five identified locations.
The assignment focused on front-end engineering studies (geotechnical, hydraulic, survey, concept design and cost estimation), a scope typically delivered by multidisciplinary civil engineering consultancies to de-risk and define requirements prior to procurement of construction works.
