Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate awarded a contract to SMEC Australia for an infrastructure study investigating opportunities and constraints for urban renewal and intensification in the Woden district, focusing on the urban corridor from Mawson group center through Woden town center to North Curtin and West Deakin.
Stage 1 reviewed capacity constraints and opportunities, identifying public infrastructure upgrades for active travel, stormwater, flood management, sewerage, water supply, and the electricity network.
This study is a precursor to major urban redevelopment, with SMEC Australia being a frequent winner of infrastructure planning contracts in the ACT.
