About
Hume City Council awarded a contract to NOVACON GROUP PTY LTD for the installation of concrete road humps at six separate locations across Craigieburn, Gladstone Park, Meadow Heights, Broadmeadows, and Sunbury.
The works included saw cutting and excavating existing road pavement, placing precast concrete units (each approximately 2.4 tonnes) supplied by the council, reinstating surrounding pavement, line marking, signage, and installing spiked kerbing and minor concrete works at certain locations.
The installation was performed under traffic management conditions with no full road closures permitted.
The contract was awarded as a lump sum for all six locations.
This contract reflects a common local government approach to traffic calming, where precast materials are supplied by the council to control quality and cost, while installation is outsourced to a single contractor to ensure consistency across multiple sites.
