About

Public Transport Authority awarded a contract to UGL Engineering Pty Ltd for maintenance and upgrade services to the Subiaco Train Tunnel's Linear Heat Detection System.

The work was completed during a three-day shutdown from 20:00 Friday 23rd February 2018 to 08:00 Monday 26th February 2018, requiring two teams working 12-hour shifts.

Scope included providing a documented design, drafting new drawings (fire zones, floor plan, system drawing), updating existing drawings (cable route, electrical single line diagrams, breaker schedule), installing hangers, running fibre in east and west tunnels, running conduit, splicing loops, running fibre through cable ducts, mounting the control unit, running output to the Fire Indication Panel, programming the DTS Control Unit, and commissioning the system.
