North Metropolitan Health Service awarded a contract to Malcolm Thompson Pumps Pty Ltd for the overhaul of quantity 2 condenser water pumps at the QEII – HH block.

The project involved the removal and service of Aquaplus pumps and the renewal of motor bearings and seals.

Tasks included stripping and assessing the pump wet end, servicing with a complete kit, machining and fabricating necessary parts, and stripping motors to renew bearings and seals.

The pumps and motors were then rebuilt, hydro tested, painted, and re-installed onsite, followed by operational testing.

Provisions included any required machining, fabrication, transportation, and logistical time allowances, with sequential operation ensuring one unit was addressed at a time.
