Panel Contract Awarded for Waste Collection, Recycling and Disposal Services across the Northern Territory to Shred-X Pty Ltd (36‑Month Term)

Department of Corporate and Digital Development awarded a contract to Shred-X Pty Ltd for a 36-month All of NT panel to provide waste collection, recycling and disposal services.

The contract covered routine and ad hoc waste management services, including the supply, maintenance and cleaning of waste collection equipment such as bins, collection vehicles, compactors, balers and bale frames.

The contractor collected, transported, sorted, recycled, re-used, processed, treated, destroyed and/or disposed of waste at frequencies agreed with the Ordering Officer, and performed site maintenance including removal of rubbish, cartons and plastic bags deposited in or around collection equipment during each service.

The contractor conducted needs assessments and assisted agencies in selecting appropriate services and equipment in accordance with environmental protection and circular economy best-practice guidelines.

All disposals were required to comply with applicable legislation, waste management strategies, policies and relevant Australian standards; tenderers had been required to hold a valid Environmental Protection Licence (EPL) under the Environment Protection Act 2019 when submitting their tender.

The panel covered services across the Northern Territory, allowed for additional services as required, and had an estimated price range of $10M–$30M.
