Power and Water Corporation awarded a contract to H2O Pty Ltd for the provision of drilling, bore construction and aquifer pump testing services under the Better Bores for Communities program as part of a 36-month panel contract.
The contract supported delivery of works to improve access to safe and reliable water in remote Northern Territory Aboriginal communities to support community health and liveability.
The program was jointly funded by the Australian Government and the Northern Territory Government, with Australian funding provided through the National Water Grid Fund.
Power and Water had structured the procurement to establish a drilling panel of three to five qualified contractors to deliver drilling and related services across remote locations in the Northern Territory.
The Better Bores program used a multi-contractor panel model (3–5 suppliers) and joint federal/state funding via the National Water Grid Fund to deliver remote water-security works, indicating procurement practices that favour qualified drilling specialists able to operate in remote NT communities.
