Department of Premier and Cabinet awarded a contract to McLennan Magasanik Associates for a modified wedges analysis, based on the Princeton University approach, to identify potential greenhouse gas emission reductions achievable in Tasmania up to 2050 using State-based policy measures under plausible assumptions.
The work also included additional analysis of potential emission reduction actions to assess their relative benefits and costs and socio-economic impacts, and examined the effects of the proposed national Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS) and Renewable Energy Target (RET) scheme.
