Public Transport Authority awarded a contract to Australian Transit Group (The Trustee for Australian Transit Unit Trust) for the operation of the Holland Street South School Bus Service in the Mid West Region, commencing 12/07/2024.
The service formed part of the PTA-managed statewide orange school bus network of more than 800 buses and provided transport for rural students between designated collection points (appropriate to each location’s infrastructure) and their nearest schools, including connections to metropolitan special education facilities.
The PTA retained responsibility for policy and entitlement frameworks, system management and contract management while engaging a qualified and experienced operator to deliver the route.
The award reflected the PTA’s model of centrally managed policy and contracting combined with outsourced operators to deliver regional student transport as part of a large, statewide orange school-bus network (800+ vehicles).
