Department of Logistics and Infrastructure awarded a contract to DAC Enterprises Pty Ltd for the reformation and gravel resheeting of Kurundi Road between kilometre 81 and 101 in the Tennant Creek region.
The contract scope comprised subgrade preparation by rip and recompact methods using existing surface and batter material to form the road carriageway; sourcing, extraction, processing (including blending or screening) and import of compliant gravel materials; extraction and import of water; ripping, re-compaction and reformation of the roadway; gravel resheeting; and conducting works under traffic, with table drains to be utilised as side tracks.
The works’ emphasis on earthworks, on-site material processing, water supply and live-traffic operations highlighted requirements for heavy plant capability and rural road resurfacing experience, which tend to align with capabilities of established civil contracting firms.
