About
Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage awarded a contract to Garlooroo (Garlooroo PTY LTD) for the replacement of aged and deteriorating water supply infrastructure at the Morrell Park residential community, located on the east side of Broome Road approximately 5 km north of Broome.
The work scope included replacing the water supply to residential blocks contained within the Settlement Zone and removal of ACM.
The Department had statewide responsibility for planning for future communities and management of Crown Land and undertook this asset-management activity as part of its land use planning, land administration and asset management functions.
The contract combined potable water-asset replacement with hazardous-material (ACM) remediation in a government-managed residential settlement, illustrating the Department's role in addressing aging infrastructure on Crown land.
