Power and Water Corporation awarded a contract to Fred NT P/L for replacement of the Wurrumiyanga sewage pond outfall pipe.
The project addressed an existing outfall that was unable to discharge high flows during peak demand periods and significant wet-season rain events, which resulted in uncontrolled overflows from the ponds to the environment.
The contract scope comprised construction of approximately 560 m of DN300 uPVC SN8 gravity outfall pipe from the ponds to the existing point of discharge and pond rectification works around the existing pond outlet.
