Programmed Facility Management awarded a contract to Insight Electrical Technology (Insight Electrical Technology Pty Ltd) for the Site Main Switchboard (SMSB) upgrade at West One Services, 1 Prospect Place, West Perth WA 6005, on behalf of the Department of Finance and the Department of Training and Workforce Development.
The work scope included demolition, removal and disposal of the existing SMSB; liaison with Western Power; supply and installation of a new SMSB; disconnection and reconnection of existing sub mains cabling; supply and installation of new sub mains cabling; supply and installation of new underground pit and pipe systems; installation of cable containment systems including ladder, ducting and rigid conduits; and testing and commissioning, together with associated electrical works.
Contracts of this type were commonly awarded to specialist electrical contractors with low-voltage switchboard, sub‑main and network‑operator coordination experience; the scope indicated a comprehensive electrical infrastructure upgrade requiring demolition, new cabling and external utility liaison.
