East Metropolitan Health Service awarded a contract to Objective 3D (Objective 3D Pty Ltd) for the supply of service and maintenance of the additive manufacturing machines used by the Health Technology Management Unit (HTMU).

The HTMU had been an early adopter of digital technologies and used its in-house additive manufacturing equipment to produce virtual surgical planning outputs, anatomical models, custom implants (including shoulder arthrodesis, custom acetabular cage and titanium cranioplasty plate), surgical guides (drill and cutting guides), moulds for maxillofacial prosthetics, training guides and custom attachments to medical devices.

The contract was for servicing and maintenance of those additive manufacturing machines, which were described as pivotal to the HTMU’s ability to deliver these products and services to clinicians and hospitals.
