PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA awarded a contract to Illumina Australia Pty Ltd for the supply of HumanCytoSNP-12v2.1 DNA Analysis BeadChip kits.
These chips are used for genetic testing to identify mutations causing inherited diseases, congenital anomalies, developmental delay, autism spectrum disorders, and prenatal diagnosis.
The contract has an initial term of two years with one optional twelve-month extension.
BeadChip kits will be purchased on an ad hoc basis.
Illumina is a dominant supplier in the genomics market, and this contract reinforces its position in public pathology services in Australia.
