About
Power and Water Corporation awarded a contract to RMG Project Management Pty Ltd for upgrades to critical sewerage headworks at Ramingining to support the increased load driven by the Northern Territory Government’s $1.1 billion Housing Investment Package and associated housing growth in remote Aboriginal communities.
The contract delivered the expansion of Sewerage Pumping Station (SPS) 1 at Ramingining and included civil, mechanical, electrical and control system modifications.
Works comprised construction of a new emergency overflow storage facility, upgrade of the sewer rising main to meet increased capacity, and integration of all supporting infrastructure (civil, mechanical, electrical and SCADA/controls).
Upgrading remote wastewater infrastructure required coordinated civil, mechanical, electrical and control-system capability, favouring multidisciplinary contractors able to integrate overflow storage, rising-main capacity increases and SCADA/controls work for community-scale water services.
