Council is seeking a contractor for the construction of a new pedestrian‑cyclist refuge island and associated active transport and road safety improvements at the Henry Lawson Drive and Maxwell Avenue intersection in Milperra. The works aim to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety crossing Henry Lawson Drive, provide improved connectivity between recreational facilities and existing shared path networks, deliver an interim safe crossing solution pending future signalisation of the Henry Lawson Drive, Maxwell Avenue and Bransgrove Road intersection, improve accessibility and compliance with current active transport and accessibility standards, and minimise disruption to road users, residents and adjacent recreational facilities during construction. Respondents must be currently prequalified under the Transport for NSW (TfNSW) contractor prequalification scheme with a minimum R3 roadworks category rating and must submit documentary evidence of current TfNSW prequalification with the tender response under Section 4.8; respondents who do not hold the required TfNSW R3 prequalification at the tender closing date will be deemed non‑conforming. Please see the RFT Document for the full description of the nature and extent of services.
