Supplier needed to provide services to adequately maintain the high voltage, low voltage, data and instrumentation systems at Tweed Sand Bypassing (TSB) to ensure successful operations and maintenance. TSB is a legislated coastal management operation made up of a fixed sand bypass system and periodic dredging, established in the late 1990s to address beach amenity and entrance navigability issues caused by the Tweed River entrance training walls which interrupt natural sand transport processes. Under Queensland and New South Wales legislation TSB’s two objectives are to maintain a navigable depth of water in the Tweed River Entrance and to achieve a continuing supply of sand to the southern Gold Coast beaches at a rate consistent with natural processes. Inspection and maintenance of the high voltage, low voltage, data and instrumentation systems is essential to TSB operations to ensure they are fit for purpose.
