About

Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking expressions of interest for the Southern Water Treatment Plant Project to support water security for the Toowoomba Region. The Council serves approximately 184,000 people across 12,973 square kilometres, located about 125 kilometres west of Brisbane and encompassing the city of Toowoomba and regional centres including Oakey, Pittsworth, Millmerran, Highfields, Crows Nest, Clifton, Greenmount and Yarraman. Council delivers and maintains community infrastructure and services such as water, wastewater, waste, drainage, roads, bridges, footpaths, utilities and recreational facilities, and its Water and Waste Services Group manages the region’s water treatment, storage and distribution assets including the existing Mount Kynoch Water Treatment Plant.
