About

Queensland Rail is seeking a Principal Contractor to undertake the construction of a new single-track railway bridge over the North Johnstone River, approximately 4 km north of Innisfail on the North Coast Line in Far North Queensland. The existing bridge at approximately chainage 1597.870 km has been in service for about 100 years and currently carries both passenger and freight operations; due to age-related deterioration, increasing maintenance demands and ongoing structural performance concerns, Queensland Rail has initiated an offline replacement to ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the rail network.
