About
The Department of Energy, Environment & Climate Action awarded a contract to Kablamo Pty Limited for assisting in the development of new cloud-based computer infrastructure to support the implementation of the Risk 2.0 systems.
Risk 2.0 is a sophisticated computer modelling system that calculates and measures bushfire risks at a State-wide level, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Kablamo supported the Forest Fire Risk Assessment Unit in AWS architecture and workflow for bushfire modelling, as well as database design and coding for metric development and implementation.
This contract highlights the increasing reliance on cloud-based high-performance computing for environmental risk assessment, with AWS being a preferred platform for such computationally intensive tasks.
