Department for Education awarded a contract to Flinders University for research and evaluation consultancy to design, test and evaluate school-based approaches to improving student mental health and wellbeing outcomes in primary schools.
The supplier examined the Student Wellbeing Leader role and its support structures, undertook a program of research across 12-20 Department schools, and reported recommended strategies for building the capacity of Student Wellbeing Leaders to respond to student mental health and wellbeing concerns.
The award engaged university-led applied research to pilot and evaluate interventions in a defined sample of schools, producing evidence-based recommendations intended to inform departmental practice on strengthening in-school wellbeing leadership.
