Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions awarded a contract to MIB Traffic Management for the upgrade and extension of the existing car park at Red Gorge/Knox Gorge in Karijini National Park.
The works included supply of materials, labour, and machinery, construction of compacted gravel paths, excavation and carting of gravel from existing pits, establishment of a pump and storage system on an existing bore, and application of a two-coat seal.
This contract demonstrates the use of local materials and on-site water management to reduce costs in remote park infrastructure projects.
