Department of Logistics and Infrastructure awarded a contract to Stantec Australia Pty Ltd for a planning study to develop concept plans for the future duplication of the Stuart Highway from Cox Peninsula Road to Central Arnhem Road, south of Katherine.
The work covered investigations and concept plans development for the corridor with a start at Chainage 46.26 km (Cox Peninsula intersection) and an end at Chainage 366.63 km (Central Arnhem Road intersection).
The project formed part of the Stuart Highway upgrading strategy to improve motorist safety, provide driver amenity and to support future economy and land use plans.
