About
Department of Education awarded a contract to Avidity Training and Development for the delivery of nationally recognised training through the Skills Tasmania Workplace Skills Program in 2011.
The program was contestable and designed to respond to skill development needs identified by industry, enterprises, communities and individuals.
It was aligned with Tasmania’s Vocational Education and Training policy and planning processes informed by government strategies and priorities for economic and community development.
The contract supported skill-set based training in line with the priorities of the Tasmanian Skills Strategy, aimed to fill gaps in the training system and meet needs not covered by other funding programs, and supported strong partnerships between registered training organisations and enterprises or industry associations.
The award illustrated the government’s use of registered training organisations to deliver contestable, gap-focused VET initiatives, with RTOs like Avidity acting as key delivery partners to align training with industry and regional economic priorities.
