Department of Education awarded a contract to Esset Australia for the delivery of nationally recognised training under the Tasmanian Skills Investment Program (TasSkills).
The contract formed part of a program designed to enable the Government to respond to emerging skill shortages through tendered skill programs.
The program enabled registered training organisations to submit tenders for the delivery of a range of specified training programs funded from the Tasmanian Skills Investment Fund, with tenders invited for delivery of nationally recognised training in 2008.
The TasSkills contract channelled Skills Investment Fund resources through competitive tenders to registered training organisations to deliver accredited qualifications, underscoring the government's use of RTOs to address identified skill shortages.
