About
Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services awarded a contract to RPS AAP Consulting Pty Ltd for an environmental due diligence audit of Northern Territory Government and associated training areas across the Northern Territory.
The audit aimed to identify and reduce environmental harm caused by per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) by identifying on-site and off-site areas where Aqueous Film Forming Foams (AFFF) or other PFAS-containing firefighting foams may have been used or discharged.
The report was due by 25 February 2022.
This contract reflects increasing regulatory focus on PFAS contamination, with specialized environmental consultancies like RPS AAP often winning such audits due to their expertise in hazardous materials assessment.
