About
Western Australia Police Force awarded a contract to Social Systems and Evaluation (R & R Cant Holdings Company Ltd and Lennox Holdings Company Ltd) for a comprehensive evaluation of the 12-month Intensive Family Support (IFS) pilot project.
The evaluation reviewed all aspects of the pilot, which engaged Mission Australia to work with seven high needs families to address underlying social/behavioural issues leading to criminal offending.
The evaluation identified successful components, areas for improvement, compared outcomes between intervention and comparison groups, and provided recommendations for the future of the IFS project.
This contract reflects a growing trend in Australian policing to fund external evaluations of social intervention programs, aiming to measure effectiveness and inform evidence-based policy.
