Public Transport Authority awarded a contract to Underground Services Australia (Underground Services Austrlia Pty.

Ltd.) for the installation of pits and pipe civil works on the Joondalup Line as part of the PTA Resilience Alignment Project.

The scope included pit and pipe installation for Low Voltage (LV) electrical and communications systems associated with new Traction Overhead System Motorised Isolators at the Stirling, Whitfords, and Joondalup Blocks, as well as signal pit and pipe infrastructure for the Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system.

The project addressed the obsolescence of the original ATP system installed in 1992-1993, which is no longer supported by the manufacturer, making spare equipment procurement impossible.

The contract value was AUD 1,589,630.
