About
Public Transport Authority awarded a contract to Australian Railway Signalling and Electrical Pty Ltd for the planning and installation of street lighting at 34 pedestrian crossings within the PTA’s electrified network.
The works included site set-out, footing preparation and pouring, supply and installation of light poles, switchboards, and location cases, earthing and bonding, trenching, underboring, cable running, connection of monitoring systems, energisation, testing, and reporting.
The contractor also liaised with the PTA to coordinate light pole location assessments regarding train driver signalling sighting ability and confirmation of bonding points.
This contract reflects ongoing investment in pedestrian safety at level crossings, a key priority for rail authorities to reduce accidents and improve visibility.
