Public Transport Authority awarded a contract to Arup (Arup Australia Pty Limited) for engineering design and advisory services to undertake feasibility sketching and modelling for the Guildford Road Integrated Transit Corridor.
The work supported the PTA's program of level crossing removals on the Perth rail network and examined the crossings at Moojebing Street and Collier Road.
The study investigated integrated transport options between Tonkin Highway and Bassendean Station, inclusive of Guildford Road and the adjacent principal shared path, and developed and assessed corridor‑wide, interrelated solutions to identify a preferred option for further investigation.
Multidisciplinary engineering consultancies with transport planning and modelling capability are commonly appointed to corridor feasibility and level crossing removal studies because they can integrate rail, road and active‑transport considerations and produce technically coordinated option assessments.
