Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure awarded a contract to North Metro Marine for the provision of day-to-day boat lifting operations at Two Rocks Marina, 63 km north of Perth.
Two Rocks Marina included 125 boat pens, a service wharf, a two-lane boat ramp, a boat maintenance and lifting facility, a vessel fuel facility, ablutions and a car park.
The contract covered operation of the Two Rocks Marina boat lifting yard and the existing 1995 Cummins 6B boat lift, which had an operating load of 40 tonne.
This award formalised DTMI’s arrangement to assign routine operational responsibility for the marina’s boat lifting yard and its ageing 40-tonne lift to a specialised marine services contractor, reflecting common practice of contracting out daily operational tasks for public maritime facilities.
