Hume City Council awarded a contract to GLG GreenLife Group Pty Ltd for the provision of horticultural and gardening services, including mowing of high-profile sites on a schedule of rates basis.

The contract covers maintenance of a wide variety of horticultural assets, such as formal landscapes, indigenous, native and exotic landscapes, and Water Sensitive Urban Design elements like rain gardens, wetlands, and retarding basins.

Mowing services will be provided for facility surrounds, including leisure and district centres, and high and medium profile parks and reserves.

The contractor is required to supply all labour, plant, supervision, equipment, fuel, and other necessary items, including a support vehicle, a SMART mobile telephone for each work group, and all relevant horticultural equipment.

The contract also includes horticultural refurbishment services as required.

Hume City Council's Parks Department will supervise the contract.

The contract expects a 5:1 ratio for employment of apprentices during the term, with a focus on engaging local youth.
