About

Western Australia Police Force awarded a contract to Baseline Group (Baseline Group (Personnel) Pty Ltd) for the provision of full-time nursing services at the Perth Watch House (PWH), the WA Police Force's principal detention site for persons awaiting their first appearance in court.

The contract covered continuous 24-hour, seven-days-a-week (24/7) nursing coverage to manage persons in custody, including those awaiting extradition to other states or detained on outstanding warrants, who could present with a range of physical and/or mental health conditions such as alcohol or drug intoxication, mental illness, or underlying medical issues.

The services addressed the WA Police Force's responsibility to manage the health and safety of detainees while at the PWH.
