Health Support Services awarded a contract to Steltek Pty Ltd for providing Technical Consultant services to support the ICT transition of Mount Lawley Hospital from a private entity into the WA Health environment.

The contract covered expert technical guidance and delivery support across a broad range of clinical and corporate applications, networks, systems and associated devices within the WA Health ICT environment.

Scope items included ICT infrastructure, ICT networks, cyber security, nurse call systems, building management systems (BMS), access control systems, paging systems, messaging systems, duress systems and end-user computing devices, and integration, alignment and compliance of these systems with WA Health standards and operational frameworks.

The consultant role was to lead and support integration and compliance activities as part of the One Program Team, reporting to the Program Director / Program Manager, and to provide relationship management, disaster recovery input, liaison with external stakeholders, client development and stakeholder engagement, contribution to technical policy and standards, planning and delivery of information management and technical projects, As-Is/To-Be gap analysis and solution design options, monitoring of service levels and support for an end-to-end Program Roadmap.

Specified personnel criteria included significant hands-on experience in large-scale ICT environments, substantial experience developing strategic end-to-end program roadmaps, proven delivery of engagements of comparable size and complexity, preferred experience with critical hospital operational systems, strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, time management, and familiarity with adjacent disciplines (project management, change management, IT Service Management); solution architecture experience and prior WA Health sector experience were noted as advantageous.
