Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management awarded a contract to Noritsu Pty Ltd for the purchase and supply of a Digital Mini Lab photographic processing system.
The equipment was required to print departmental crime scene and other photographs taken using emerging digital technologies from numerous digital storage devices.
The Digital Mini Lab replaced two antiquated (1991), film-only mini lab printers and addressed Tasmania Police's lack of capacity to produce high-quality images from digital media suitable for use within the law courts.
The award modernized Tasmania Police's forensic imaging capability by replacing 1991 film-only printers with a digital-capable system, closing a prior operational gap in producing court-quality digital prints.
