About
Frankston City Council awarded a contract to Newscope Turf & Civil for the reconstruction of the greens complexes on the 1st, 10th, and 18th holes at Centenary Park Golf Course, in line with the 2021 Course Master Plan.
The works included mobilisation and site setup, demolition, bulk earthworks, installation of sub-surface drainage, shaping of golf course contours, turfing, and demobilisation and final cleaning.
The project aimed to increase accessibility and inclusivity, provide larger green sizes for more pin placement options, add mown fairway to the surrounds and rear of greens with catch basins to retain balls, and mow fairways up to the edge of bunkers to aid maintenance.
An experienced golf course construction shaper worked with the Master Plan and concept designs to create holes meeting the briefs.
This contract reflects Frankston City Council's investment in upgrading public golf facilities to improve playability and maintenance efficiency, with a specialist turf and civil contractor selected for the niche golf course construction work.
