About
(inactive) Department of Transport awarded a contract to Shorewater Marine for the removal and disposal of AI661 “Paradise”, a 14.85m Fero-Cement yacht that had sunk on mooring AO211 in Mangles Bay, Rockingham.
The contractor removed the vessel to a hard stand at the DoT wreck facility at Woodman Point, where the vessel was to remain until a court order could be obtained to permit disposal (this disposal could occur up to 12 months after removal).
The contract required the vessel to be propped and chocked in an upright position at Woodman Point.
Quotes and invoices were required to separately reflect removal and disposal costs and invoices were to be individually itemised.
The salvage report was required to include photos identifying the vessel’s registration number and Hull Identification Number (HIN).
