Department of Logistics and Infrastructure awarded a contract to Parkmore Investments Pty Limited for the replacement of the laundry water tank system at Royal Darwin Hospital.
The works included decommissioning the existing laundry water tank system and installing two new 50 KL stainless steel sectional water tanks, an associated pressure pump system, and the required structural, hydraulic, electrical and civil works.
The scope comprised excavation and construction of concrete footings and slab, installation of a cyclone-rated external tank enclosure designed to meet IL4 operational resilience requirements, completion of all service connections, and commissioning of the system in accordance with the approved design documentation and relevant standards.
Upon completion, the system was fully commissioned, redundant infrastructure was made safe, and all disturbed areas were reinstated to as was or better.
The award emphasised operational resilience for a critical hospital service—evidenced by the IL4 cyclone-rated enclosure and full commissioning requirements—and is consistent with contracts that favour suppliers able to deliver integrated structural, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical works for health infrastructure.
